New musical: Death in Canterbury

Concert performances in January

I have written a musical with BBC comedy writer James Cary (Miranda, Bluestone 42) and we are putting on two concert performances in the City of London in January. Death in Canterbury is a comedy musical about the life and nasty murder of Thomas Becket, and the concerts will be on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th January 2026 in The Hall of St Botolph without Bishopsgate, very close to Liverpool Street station, at 7.30pm.

We have assembled a top-class cast, and a top-notch musical director, to bring the show to life. The concert will feature all of the music from the show, plus a narrator making sure you know what’s going on.

We have just launched our crowd-funding page:

Tickets are only currently available through this page as ‘rewards’ for donating. Any left-over tickets will go on sale in December – keep an eye on sherwoodjam.com for details. We’d be so grateful if you were able to support this crowd-funding effort. If you’re not free on those dates, you can buy an ‘audio e-ticket’ and we’ll send you a recording of the concerts. Or if you would rather receive nothing whatsoever for your generosity, there’s always the ‘pledge without reward’ option. Each reward has a silly name, based on a medieval rank, from ‘Sexton’ to ‘Pope’. No one’s bagged Pope yet.
